Liposuction results in small scars. Bruises develop in the treated areas, but these disappear 2–4 weeks later and the swelling goes down within 3–6 weeks. Following the surgery, the patient used supportive textiles that promote the recovery of the skin and minimise swelling. How long the supportive textiles need to be used depends on the extent of the area treated and usually varies from 1–3 weeks.
You can return to work after a few days, or at the most one week. You can gradually start taking part in sports two weeks after the liposuction.
The end result can normally be assessed six months after the procedure.
