TAKE THE TEST AND CHART YOUR ALCOHOL DEPENDENCE:

  1. Have you tried to reduce your alcohol consumption without success?

  2. Has a relative or friend been anxious or irritated by your alcohol use?

  3. Do you use alcohol to cure your hangover?

  4. Do you have feelings of guilt about your drinking?

If you answered YES to two of these questions, there are grounds to be worried about your alcohol use and potential alcohol dependence.

CONSULTATION WITH AN ADDICTION DOCTOR

You get help with your alcohol problems from Eira’s experienced doctors. The patient’s alcohol background, problems in their life and treatment options are discussed at the clinic in confidence.

The basis of successful treatment is a tailored medication and discussions with doctors and healthcare staff.
 

CONSULTATION WITH A THERAPIST

Does it feel difficult or even impossible to stop drinking?
Do you become anxious when you see a loved one drinking?

A confidential conversation with a therapist who specialises in alcohol problems can put you at ease and give you answers to your questions.

PSYCHIATRIST

Misuse often causes depression, anxiety, insomnia or other problems.
Make an appointment with a psychiatrist who is specialised in addiction medicine in order to, for example

  • discuss your problems
  • because of psychiatric medication
  • for their opinion
  • continuing care following alcohol rehabilitation

It is also possible to make an appointment to discuss a loved one’s alcohol problems. The care is confidential.

Rehabilitation course for alcohol misuse

The rehabilitation course is intended for people who have problems with their alcohol use. The course and the subsequent self-help group are based on cognitive behavioural therapy. The course is conducted in Finnish.

An outpatient clinic fee 26,30 € is added to the price of the appointment. Kanta-fee 2,70 € will be charged from every appointment that involves saving information to the Kanta archive.
